UK Mortgage For EU Nationals and Permanent Residency

There are lenders that are willing to provide UK mortgages to those with EU citizenship. However, these lenders often only grant UK mortgages to EU nationals with permanent residency or indefinite leave to stay.

UK Mortgage For EU National Case Study

Here at Clifton Private Finance, we have experience in arranging UK mortgages for EU nationals to purchase properties in the UK.

Our client, a high value earner EU national, wanted to purchase a residential home for his family in Bath worth £1M.

His family had been renting the property in Bath for two years when their landlord indicated that he wanted to sell.

Unfortunately, the landlord of the client’s family home could not afford to wait and would likely accept the first offer. This meant that the client was in danger of losing his family’s rented accommodation to another buyer.

Due to his complex income, foreign currency salary and location, every high street bank rejected his application property finance.

We recognised the client’s needs and understood why his family would not want to move from the property they had lived in for two years.

We approached a private bank and were able to secure a £750,000 interest-only mortgage for our client.

We were able to negotiate and obtain an owner-occupied, regulated, residential mortgage with a rare loan to value of 75%. This unique financial solution enabled the client to buy the property in Bath and secure a family home for his UK based relatives.
